The old MTN and Glo Network f@stlink modem are at the same bandwidth. It is therefore possible to use one f@stlink modem for the different networks in Nigeria.
Before I continue, I will like to stress on some important facts. In the market these days, there are about three different MTN f@stlink modem. The latest upgrade is highly protected because it seems to be against the company‘s policy. Secondly, MTN had change the company producing the old f@stlink modem. Therefore, always go for the old f@stlink modem if you ever thought of unlocking the modem though the downloading speed of the new modem is higher than the old modem. The choice is yours
· Goggle out unlock HUAWEI- HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO.LTD is company in charge of producing the old MTN f@stlink and Glo modem. There are also ZTE modem
· Track the IMEI number of the modem e.g. 345765432907600 - the IMEI number is the manufacturer’s number for modem. it is sometimes written at back of modem
· Pick the last four digit of the number
· Click on the link http://azgsm.com/huawei.php for Huawei modem. For ZTE modem –click on http://azgsm.com/calculator/
· Be sure that the f@stlink modem is inserted and connected to internet via USB port of your computer.
· Enter your IMEI Number and the security code provided on the website and click on generation button or calculator button to generate the unlocking code e.g. unlock 24311040
NEXT STEP
· Remove the modem from your computer and bring out the SIM Card in the modem and insert another SIM Card that is different from the Network of the Modem for example if the modem is Glo F@STLink modem, you will have to insert an MTN f@stlink into the modem and plug it back to your computer and you are done
